Lake Cascade State Park is nestled in the majestic mountains of central Idaho approximately 75 miles north of Boise on State Highway 55.
Lake Cascade State Park provides diverse and exciting recreational opportunities throughout all four seasons. Popular for all types of boating, prevailing winds on the water make it especially well suited for sailing and windsurfing. Rainbow trout, Coho salmon, small mouth bass and perch can be caught from the shore or by boat in the summer or through the ice in the winter. Hiking, bird watching, photography, mountain biking, all types of boating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and just plain relaxing are all easily accessible from Lake Cascade State Park.
Lake Cascade offers two group camping opportunities, including Snowbank group camp and Osprey Point group yurts, 200 individual campsites in 7 developed campgrounds (with Ridgeview offering power, water and 5 sites with sewer), dispersed camping areas with primitive camping, several day use areas, and 6 boat launch ramps. The various campgrounds and facilities of the park are dispersed around Lake Cascade's forty-one square miles of surface water and 86 miles of shoreline.
The office for the park is located in Cascade near the intersection of Dam Road and Lakeshore Drive.
If you are planning next year's camping trips, Sugarloaf, Huckleberry, Buttercup, West Mountain, and Ridgeview are available for reservations. You can make reservation 9 months in advance or 48 hours prior to your arrival date. To make reservations online through the website or call the call center at 1-888-922-6743. Reservations are available from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. There is a $10.60 (6% Idaho sales tax included) reservation fee that is nonrefundable and does not apply to the camp fees. Camping fees are $12.72/ $23.32 per night and depending on unit amenities. Extra vehicles (not in tow) are $5.30 per night.
Snowbank Group Use Area is available for reservation by call center only. Toll free number is 1-888-922-6743. Reservations for this area can be made 9 months in advance or 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Reservations are available from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. This area will accommodate up to 75 people and parking for 25 vehicles. This area is great for large family gatherings. RV’s are welcome to park in the parking lot. Central Water, vault toilets, and large fire ring are available.
The group use yurts at Osprey Point are open year around for group use. The yurts are offer breath taking views of the surrounding valley. This is great time to spend a weekend or weekday at the yurts. Water and vault toilets are available. The yurts can accommodate 30 people. A large fire ring is available for campfires and is great for roasting marshmallows, gazing up at the nighttime sky and sharing camp stories. If you want to try your luck at fishing, from Osprey Point travel 2.5 miles north to Poison Creek Unit and spend the day of relaxing fun in the day use area. The 2010 Idaho Park annual passports are available now, just in time for stocking stuffers or a present for friends or family. The prices for the annual passports are $35.00 for the first and $5.00 for the second pass. To purchase the Idaho Park annual passports you can go to Lake Cascade State Park office or any park office. Annual passport holders do not have to pay the $5.00 day use fee and can enjoy the day at any Idaho State Park. Please remember the annual passport is not valid for camping or extra vehicle fees.
