About the Chamber
Dear Cascade Chamber Members and Potential Members,
Welcome to Cascade, Idaho and thank you for your interest in joining the Cascade Chamber of Commerce. Despite the hard economic times, things are looking better for the Cascade Chamber. We are debt free and we have raised a significant part of the money needed to see that the Thunder Mt. Days Fourth of July event continues. As business owners and friends of the Chamber we all know how important these programs are to us and to the community.
Chamber is no different than many organizations in these times. We are short of participating members and of money which makes it difficult to put these programs together. This year we are not only urging you to join Chamber and thus provide your financial support but also to be a participating member who attends meetings, offers your thoughts and participates in Chamber events. We know how busy you are. If you can’t get away, how about sending an employee?
Besides Thunder Mt. Days, we also had a successful Fall Dinner and Dessert Auction which raised $4,000.00 this year. If you haven’t attended this, please plan on coming in 2010. You’ll have a good meal, a chance to bid on the best desserts our citizens have to offer and have a good time in the process. Over Presidents Day Weekend we also host Winter Jamboree with snowmobile races, a fun run and another Dinner/Auction, this time with great recreation items and lots of miscellaneous things for sale. We have also upgraded our Chamber web site. As a member, your business will be included on the web site with a link to your site and you will be eligible to advertise on the site. All three of these bring lots of families to our area which is a benefit to all of us. We hope you see the results of these efforts in your business.
We are working hard to regain your faith and to hold true to our mission statement:
"The mission of the Cascade Chamber of Commerce is:
to promote a vibrant business climate in the Cascade area;
to serve our members, the community and visitors; and
to foster a cohesive working relationship among political,
educational and civic organizations locally and regionally."
We are all in this together. Sometimes we hear people say "I don’t think Chamber does anything for me". Years ago a gentleman who owns a small one person shop responded to this comment with "I don’t belong to Chamber because of what it can do for me; I belong for what I can do for it, and in the process, for my community". Whatever we do as a group benefits the entire community and therefore every business.
What we hope to accomplish in the coming year include: Bigger and better Thunder Mt. Days with the best fireworks display in the State, Winter Jamboree and Fall Dinner/Dessert Auction plus the possible addition of Festival of Lights, Scarecrow Festival, a huge bike race, jet boat races, more softball tournaments and any other events that are near and dear to your heart.
These programs and events don’t happen by themselves. We need you. We need not just your financial support but your ideas, comments and participation. Please join us whether you are an established business, a new business or a friend of the Chamber or a supplier of an area business.
